Children Write Scathing Obituary About Abusive Mom: 'We Celebrate Her Passing' (VIDEO)
The children of a deceased woman left a scathing obituary on Tuesday, recalling years of abuse under their less than kind mother.
While most obituaries celebrate the life that someone once live, an obituary written for Marianne Theresa Johnson-Reddick by one of her eight children did quite the opposite. In nine sentences that were printed briefly by the Reno Gazette-Journal, Johnson-Reddicks's daughter assured the world of her and her siblings plans to "celebrate" the death of their mom.
"She is survived by six of her eight children whom she spent her lifetime torturing in every way possible..." Katherine Reddick, 57, wrote. "On behalf of her children who she so abrasively exposed to her evil and violent life, we celebrate her passing from this earth and hope she lives in the after-life reliving each gesture of violence, cruelty and shame that she delivered on her children."

Johnson-Reddick, 78, died Aug. 30 at ManorCare Health Services, a Reno nursing home. She suffered from bladder cancer and had become a ward of the state although the cause of her death remains unknown. Reddick said the death of her mom would bring "peace" and "closure."
"Her surviving children will now live the rest of their lives with the peace of knowing their nightmare finally has some form of closure," she said.
Before completing the obit, which was removed by the Gazette soon after it was published, Reddick announced a war on child abuse encouraging others to stop the violence.
"Most of us have found peace in helping those who have been exposed to child abuse and hope this message of her final passing can revive our message that abusing children is unforgivable, shameless, and should not be tolerated in a 'humane society,'" the obituary concludes. "Our greatest wish now, is to stimulate a national movement that mandates a purposeful and dedicated war against child abuse in the United States of America."
