Chris Brown Allegedly Stole Fan's iPhone, Faces Grand Theft Charge
Chris Brown was accused of stealing a fan's iPhone on Miami Beach Feb. 19, and now there could be an arrest warrant out for the R&B singer.
Chris Brown snatched the $500 white iPhone 4S out of a fan's hand when she attempted to take a picture of him leaving the Cameo nightclub with Young Money rapper Tyga, according to CBS Miami.
Brown was apparently celebrating his Grammy Award win for his latest album, "F.A.M.E." with rapper Tyga at the popular nightclub. When leaving, a fan, Shanae Spann, whipped out her iPhone to take a picture of the stars. She managed to take at least one picture of Brown sitting in his black Bentley.
Brown spied her taking pictures, rolled down the window, and snatched her phone, swearing angrily.
"B---- you ain't going to put that on no website," said Brown, according to the police report. The singer then rolled up the windows, and drove away.
Miami Police Department Detective Juan Sanchez told RumorFix that a criminal investigation is underway. An arrest warrant could be issued as early as Thursday afternoon, said the officer.
The singer, who is known to have anger issues, as he previously domestically abused then girlfriend Rihanna, has been accused of Robbery by Sudden Snatching, according to reports.
Brown could be in real trouble. Although the theft of an iPhone may seem like a small thing, because the newer iPhone 4S is worth more than $300, it could be classified as grand theft, a felony punishable by five years in prison in the state of Florida.
The troubled entertainer was spotted in Miami later that day wearing two oversized gold chains. It is unknown if he still is in Miami, or if he was simply visiting the city for the weekend.
Since his Grammy Award win, Brown has been involved in several controversies.
Country music artists Miranda Lambert tweeted about Chris Brown performing twice at the award show, questioning whether fans had forgiven him for his vicious assault on Rihanna.
"HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now! That's the ultimate F--- OFF," Brown responded via Twitter.
The singer also invoked ire from WWE wrestling champion CM Punk, who posted that he wanted to "curb stomp" Brown for the 2009 abuse of Rihanna.
Brown tweeted: "@CMpunk needs more followers. He's such a leader! Not to mention the roids hes on has made it utterly impossible for him pleasure a women."
Brown has not publicly responded to the theft allegations.
