Chris Brown Canadian Concerts Cancelled After Protests, Health Scare
Chris Brown, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter, was scheduled to headline four summer concerts later this month in Canada, but after protests and a health scare the headliner and show was cancelled.
Stephen Tobin, owner of the Drop Entertainment Group which is promoting the concert, revealed why the four day concert series would be cancelled.
"After ongoing conversation and consultation with this year's headline act Chris Brown, and in light of the performer's recent personal and health-related issues, a decision has been made to cancel all four scheduled performances," Tobin said in a Canadian newspaper report, the Brandon Sun. "In the absence of a festival headliner, we cannot proceed."

Brown recovered from a non-epileptic seizure reportedly caused by fatigue and stress earlier this month. However, some people protested the singer performing in Canada even before his health scare.
"Chris Brown is as well known for his violent beating of his former girlfriend Rihanna," one petition written by a Halifax, Canada resident stated, according to www.ctvnews.ca. "As a city, I believe it reflects poorly on us to not only host such an artist, but to make him the headliner of this show."
Last month, four sponsors pulled out of the concert because of Brown, according to CTV. Molson Canadian, Touch of Radiance spa, and the Centre for Arts and Technology-Halifax withdrew their sponsorship from the music festival after Rogers Communication's announcement to do the same.
Even Halifax Mayor, Mike Savage, has also spoken out about Brown performing in his Canadian city.
"It makes me kind of sick, to be honest with you, that someone like this will be performing in Halifax," Savage said, according to PerezHilton.com reports. "Those of us who are in public life – I'm in public life, he's in public life – you have to be responsible for your past actions, and I think it sends a very, very wrong message to everybody. I'm not keen on the city supporting this in any way."
