Chris Brown Denies Possessive Lyrics Aimed at Rihanna?
Chris Brown recently defended himself against claims that some of his recent lyrics were aimed at claiming ownership of girlfriend Rihanna.
Brown, 23, recently performed at the Emerson Theater in California recently, where he gave men advice about their women.
"Every guy in this building has said one thing to their female. If you're not an insecure (expletive) and you let her have fun with her friends, I applaud you. You gotta say that one thing to her, and I made this (expletive) up," Brown told the audience before breaking out into song. "Don't make me have to tell you again, that that's my (expletive) baby / It's mine babe, babe, mine / so you better not give it away."
After TMZ reporters questioned Brown about the lyrics describing his feeling of ownership of 25-year-old Rihanna, he simply laughed and denied it.
"It's a song," Brown said with a laugh. "That's all it is."
In the March interview of V Magazine, Rihanna spoke about the speculation surrounding her and boyfriend Chris Brown, who assaulted her in 2009. Amid the pair's reconciliation that took place after Brown publicly broke up with model girlfriend Karrueche Tran after two years, Rihanna said she does not pay attention to the scrutiny and rumors surrounding her decision to reunite with him.
"I don't read it anymore," she told V magazine. "I already have too many voices in my head right now! I don't have room for that other stuff."
Still, Rihanna reportedly told The Sun U.K. that she and Brown were in a better place than they were four years ago when he abused her.
"It's different now. We don't have those types of arguments any more," the pop star explained to The Sun U.K.. "We talk about [stuff]. We value each other."
She went on to describe some of his good qualities, saying that he is an overall good individual.
"He's not the monster everyone thinks. He's a good person. He has a fantastic heart," Rihanna explained. "He's giving and loving. And he's fun to be around. That's what I love about him- he always makes me laugh."
