Chris Brown Gets Charges Dropped
Chris Brown, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter who recently had his probation revoked, had two misdemeanor charges against him dropped on Tuesday.
Brown was placed on probation after physically assaulting ex-girlfriend and singer Rihanna in 2009. Now, a Los Angeles County district attorney had the singer's probation revoked after one woman claimed that he hit her car and attempted to flee the scene last May.
However, The Los Angeles Times reported that prosecutors dismissed charges of driving without a license or insurance, which left Brown and his attorneys only to deal with allegations of a hit-and-run that he has repeatedly denied and plead not guilty to.
Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, has filed a motion to dismiss the remaining charge against Brown, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Just before the news of his probation being revoked was announced last week, Brown took to Twitter to defend himself and call for prayer from over 12 million Twitter followers.
"Pray," Brown exclaimed to fans on Twitter last week. "I did everything I was suppose to do during the so called hit n run, I provided the correct info. There were no injuries or damages. C'mon!! (SIC)"
Still, the singer claimed that God was keeping him strong throughout his struggles while thanking his fans known as Team Breezy.
"Love you Team Breezy. I hope people can actually see the truth," Brown tweeted. "My cross is heavy but God gives me the strength to carry it."
This is not the first time Brown has taken to Twitter to call for prayer amid his legal issues. Last month, the singer ranted about his problems in and out of the courtroom on the social media website.
"I work my (expletive) off to provide for my entire family," Brown wrote in a Twitter rant last month. "I've made mistakes in the past and have worked hard to be a better person."
Brown ended his rant by tweeting the scripture, "2 Corinthians 12:10." The scripture in the New International Bible states, "That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
