Chris Brown Hit-and-Run Charges Upset Karrueche Tran, 'She's Got His Back'
Chris Brown is reportedly receiving support from Karrueche Tran after it was revealed that the singer has been charged with a criminal hit-and-run stemming from a minor car accident that occurred in May.
The Grammy award-winning singer, 24, was photographed with Tran, 25, in Los Angeles on May 21 just minutes after the collision took place. The pair, who were not injured, appeared to exchange information with the other driver however reports claim the singer was charged because he is accused of failing to give proper information to the other driver.
"It's a shame what's happening to Chris. Karrueche's got his back! She was there and witnessed the whole thing. She saw how everything went down," a source told HollywoodLife.com.
"She was right there and watched Chris give this woman all his information and she even gave the woman her phone number, since she was involved," the source added.
The "Fine China" singer is accused of leaving the scene of the accident without producing a valid driver's license or insurance information to the other party. Brown is currently on probation stemming from his 2009 assault case involving ex-girlfriend Rihanna and if a court finds that he is in breach due to the hit-and-run charges, he could be sentenced to a maximum of four years in prison, according to the New York Daily News.
"It's not a hit and run if u get out the car, exchange information (who has NO DAMAGE to either cars). This is really ridiculous," Brown tweeted in response to the reports of charges.
"I have a valid drivers license and I gave the woman the right info. She saw cameras and wanted to make a scene," he continued adding "She contacted the cops thinking of a payday from Chris Brown when I followed the proper procedures."
Tran, who reportedly reconciled with Brown after his May split from Rihanna, is reportedly tired of witnessing people trying to "extort" the singer. The charges have reportedly made the aspiring model feel "sad" for the singer.
"It drives [Karrueche] crazy... She's seen people just try to extort him for no reason. Karrueche feels for [Chris], she really does," a source said.
"It makes her sad because there isn't one day where he can just be himself, you know, calm and relaxed, without there being some type of drama," the source added.
