Chris Brown Proves Community Service Hours for Hearing
Chris Brown was reportedly all smiles after the singer-songwriter's probation hearing Friday to prove he has indeed been honest about how many community service hours he has worked.
Brown, 23, went to court Friday with his lawyer Mark Geragos after the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office accused him of not completing his 180 days of community service. The sentence stems from his 2009 domestic dispute with girlfriend Rihanna.
James Bradlin, the judge presiding in Brown's case, reportedly received two envelopes from Virginia to serve as evidence that Brown had indeed completed his community service hours in the state, according to Perez Hilton reports.

Geragos reportedly left the judge's chambers smiling, Perez Hilton reported. Although the contents of the envelopes have not been disclosed to the public, a continuance was granted in the case until June 10.
Speculation about Brown being honest concerning his community service hours came about when the Los Angeles District Attorney reportedly filed legal documents stating that Brown's community service hours were "bogus," and that "he was actually on a private jet to Cancun" instead of fulfilling the duties of his probation, according to TMZ reports. The Los Angeles Times reported that prosecutors filed a 19-page report to request that courts do not accept Brown's community service hours due to "significant discrepancies indicating at best sloppy documentation and at worst fraudulent reporting."
Last November, The Huffington Post reported that a probation officer said Brown "appears to be making a sincere effort to comply with terms and conditions of probation."
While the Richmond Police Department said it would be "inappropriate to comment on a matter before the court" in a statement to The Times, Geragos insists that the district attorney should be ashamed of claims that Brown was not working diligently on his community service.
Last year, Brown spoke about his struggles with overcoming a negative public opinion and trying to rebuild his brand after his public felony case against Rihanna.
"Having to get personal opinion back and having to gain personal success back, you know, it's not all the way back you know," he said on the MTV's "This is How I Made It" last year. "But it's one of my most humbling experiences."
