Chris Matthews Compares Obama to Jesus? 'He Came Amongst Us,' Says MSNBC Host
Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC's "Hardball," appeared to compare President Barack Obama to Jesus Thursday in a discussion about his interview with the president.
Matthews was gushing over the fact that the president was willing to speak to the MSNBC host.
David Corn, editor of Mother Jones, complained that Obama is "frustrated with the political and media culture he has to work within ... ."
Matthews interrupted to remind Corn that Obama was willing to spend time that day with lowly reporters.
"But, David Corn you skeptic," Matthews responded, "he came to us today. He came amongst us."
This would not be the first time Matthews expressed his affection for the president.
During the 2008 election, Matthews remarked that after hearing an Obama speech, "I felt this thrill going up my leg."
