Chris Tomlin's 'Burning Lights' Album to Top Billboard 200 Chart

Well-established Christian singer and worship leader Chris Tomlin looks to be on his way to break into the very top of next week's Billboard 200 chart, with his new album, "Burning Lights," raking in sales of between 60,000 to 70,000 copies and surging to the top of iTunes Christian and Gospel Albums Charts.

"Burning Lights," released on Jan. 8, is Tomlin's eighth studio album, but it would be his very first one to reach the top of the Billboard 200, The Associated Press reported. The "Les Miserables" Motion Picture soundtrack currently holds the top spot with 92,000 copies, but not many major albums are released in the first half of January, which will give "Burning Lights" the chance to take the top spot. The album's main competition next week will be "Notes From the Underground" by Hollywood Undead and "Wretched and Divine: The Story of The Wild Ones" by the Black Veil Brides.

Tomlin has performed in front of thousands around the world and is currently on a tour across America. He is also employed as a worship leader at Passion City Church in Atlanta, Ga., along with Louie Giglio. He has won several Dove Awards and a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album in 2012. Recently, Tomlin performed in front of 60,000 students at the Passion 2013 four-day conference in Atlanta, which was hosted by Giglio.

A detailed review by BreatheCast.com of "Burning Light"s gives the album a high score, and notes that it is a "landmark worship album not just in 2013 but in any year." The review projects that the songs on Tomlin's latest album "are going to be heard in churches over numerous languages across the world. But more importantly, just as Tomlin is a worshipper at heart, these songs will continue to transform us from being lovers of this world to be true worshippers of the Almighty God."

"Burning Lights" has also received largely positive critical reviews, with Kevin Davis of New Release Tuesday giving it a 5 out of 5 score and writing: "All of the songs are catchy, exciting and worshipful. After listening to the album, I am stirred with compassion to love people as Jesus loves us."

CCM Magazine rated the album 4 out 5, USA Today gave it 3 out 4 stars, and All Music ranked it 4 out of 5 stars.

"Burning Lights" is currently available for purchase in stores.
