Christian apologists tackle questions on sex, climate change and LGBT sin
Is it OK to date non-Christians?
The question about interfaith dating was answered by Edwards, who referenced Second Corinthians 6:14, which states that Christians should “not be yoked together with unbelievers.”
“Why would it be loving or wise for us, as Christians, to think about being unequally yoked with an unbeliever?” Edwards posited. “What would it be like to partner in life with someone whose fundamental understanding of the universe is significantly different to yours?”
Edwards said he believes “there is a wisdom and there is a love in saying ‘be careful about who you join yourself with’” and how this can apply to dating, even when marriage is not immediately talked about.
“For a Christian, I think we shouldn’t take dating lightly. I mean, why do we date? It’s not just the personal gratification,” he added.
“Why would you go out on a date with someone unless it was in the realm of possibility that you might get married?”
