Christian artists Sir The Baptist, Kierra Sheard and Donald Lawrence want to pay people to join relief efforts in Houston, Texas, after the city was ravished by Hurricane Harvey last month.

Sir The Baptist, the 30-year-old genre bending mainstream hip-hop musician who uses Christian themes in his music, is using his charitable organization Mission 432 to hire people to aid in Houston relief efforts. Mission 432 is partnering with H&S Commercial & Industrial Supplies and Services to pay 1,200 people $17- $25 per hour to help rebuild Houston.

On the charitable organization's website, Mission 432 explained the aim for the initiative called Heaven to Houston.

"This is a true disaster. And one that needs to be combated by not only money to rebuild the region, but boots on the ground to help the locals in the days, weeks and months ahead," the website states. "Mission 432, in partnership with H&S Commercial & Industrial Supplies and Services, will be one piece to bring Heaven to Houston."

Sir The Baptist explained why taking part in the rebuilding of Houston is an important first initiative for his organization to take on.

"America is really taking it hard right now; when making music I can't simply release it to inspire alone. It has to come with a mission to show that music cares," the musician said on the Mission 432 website. "This is the core goal of Mission 432."

Sheard, the 30-year-old gospel music singer, took to social media to help promote the Heaven to Houston initiative that she is backing with Sir The Baptist and fellow gospel artist Lawrence.

"There's way too much happening in the world right now. In the meantime let's take #Heaven to #Houston w/ @sirthebaptist @donaldlawrence and more," the singer wrote on Instagram. "You can have the opportunity to be paid to care! Strengthen the matters of the heart and soul."
