Christina Aguilera Slim Figure Shown Off at Time 100 Gala Event (PHOTO, VIDEO)
Christina Aguilera's new slim figure has been shown off this week by the star at a New York City Gala held to celebrate Time Magazine's special 100 Most Influential People list.
Over recent years the "Genie in a Bottle" singer has been criticized by some for her weight gain. However, it appears as though the singer has been working out to get more healthy, and she proudly showed off her weight loss at the event on Tuesday.
Aguilera made the Time magazine list for the first time this year, and she decided to wear a Victoria Beckham dress that helped to show off her new figure.
She seemed delighted to be named on the top 100 list by Time magazine
Aguilera was listed in the Time feature alongside a short description provided by fellow singer Celine Dion, who wrote: "The first time I heard Christina Aguilera sing, I was totally blown away. I love the way she sings. Her tone is beautiful, and her voice has got so much power, yet so much sensitivity — and technically, I think, she's flawless.
"Without a doubt, she's one of the most talented artists the world has ever seen and heard, and I think she's going to continue to amaze us for many, many years to come."
Born in Staten Island, New York and raised in Wexford, Pennsylvania, Aguilera appeared in television shows as a child before signing with RCA Records in 1998.
During her first decade in the music industry, she became a prominent figure in mainstream popular music and popular culture. Aguilera's first three studio albums Christina Aguilera in 1999, Mi Reflejo in 2000, and My Kind of Christmas in 2000 achieved international success; the former spawned the number-one US Billboard Hot 100 singles "Genie in a Bottle", "What a Girl Wants", and "Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)."
