Ciara Engaged to Rapper Future

Ciara and rapper Future announced their engagement following the singer's birthday over the weekend.

Born on Oct. 25, Ciara was celebrating her 28th birthday in New York City when her boyfriend Nayvadius Wilburn, a.k.a. Future, popped the question.

"Today Has 2 Be Like One Of The Sweetest Days Of My Life! #TheBestBirthdayEver," Ciara posted to Twitter on Sunday. "If I'm Dreaming I Don't Want To Wake Up… Aaaaahhh!!!"

Later that day, reps for Ciara and Future confirmed the engagement to the Associated Press.

"Future surprised Ciara with an engagement ring this weekend, also her birthday weekend, in New York City," said the couple's publicist, Chris Chambers.

By proposing on his girlfriend's birthday, Future stole a move out of Kanye West's playbook- West proposed to Kim Kardashian on her 33rd birthday last week.

Nevertheless, 29-year-old Future reportedly proposed to Ciara with a 15-carat ring, according to People.com.

"The ring, which is doubled as a special birthday gift, is a beautiful 15-carat emerald-cut diamond designed by Avianne & Co.," Chambers said.

Without giving his plans away, Future posted message to Ciara via Twitter on her birthday Friday.

"Happy Born Day to my Love @Ciara," he wrote.

It comes as no surprise that the rapper wants to marry the "Goodies" singer; he recently gushed about his relationship while talking to Hot 97's Angie Martinez.

"I don't get into nothing to get out. We haven't set a date. This the one," he said. "I said it before, I said it seven years ago, so for it to come around and happen, it was just meant to be."

It will be the first marriage for both Ciara and the "Racks" rapper.

Future first opened up about Ciara in January this year, describing his girlfriend as "a beautiful woman, amazing, incredible" while speaking to Vibe magazine.

"Everything that comes with those words, that's what she represents," he added. "I love music, she loves music. And we love being in the studio with each other. We love being around each other and that's just what it is. The chemistry is there. It's amazing. She makes me happy, I make her smile."
