'Cities: Skylines' DLC News: 'Snowfall' Expansion Announced, Season Pass and Premium Edition Detailed

A blanket of snow is about to cover the hit game "Cities: Skylines" with the release of a brand-new downloadable content (DLC) called "Snowfall."

The DLC will serve as the first expansion for the Xbox One edition of the game. Per the official press release, it will add a slew of exciting features to all iterations of the title.

The "Cities: Skylines" DLC includes a new set of special "Winter" maps that are bound to "challenge mayors to keep the roads clear and the neighborhoods warm when the weather gets rough."

The expansion will also introduce streetcars to provide players new means for public transit. The official description of the DLC reads:

In "Snowfall," your city can be covered in snow or glisten in the rain with in-game weather — which adds new challenges as well. Add snowplows to clear your streets, and help citizens keep warm in the storm with city-wide heating systems. New public transit options also help residents get across your city, rain or shine.

The "Cities: Skylines" DLC comes with "Now is the Winter of This Content," which adds rain and fog for existing maps, and "The Streetcars You Desire" for the abovementioned new public transit alternative.

Lastly, it adds "World Warmth, Too" content adding cold weather to the game, which will increase demands for electricity, unless new heat systems are in place.

Set to be released on Nov. 14, the winter-themed expansion will be included in the Season Pass and the Premium Edition of the hit title.

The rest of the expansions packaged in the Season Pass includes The Natural Disasters and Mass Transit as well as the content creator packs High Tech Buildings and Art Deco and the radio station DLCs Relaxation Station and Rock City Radio.

The "Cities: Skylines" Premium Edition, on the other hand, will pack the original game with all the DLCs in the Season Pass plus the "After Dark" expansion. It is teased for players who have been "waiting for the right time to try your hand at urban design."

Owners of the "Cities: Skylines" Season Pass (priced at $39.99) and the Premium Edition (priced at $69.99) will get instant access to the DLCs as they are released on the respective platforms.
