'Cities: Skylines' Premium 'Mass Transit' Expansion DLC

City builder and simulation game "Cities: Skylines" will be getting its fourth expansion pack soon. The fourth premium downloadable content (DLC) will bring a number of new transportation options to the series.

Paradox Entertainment has just made an announcement for the fourth and latest content patch for its highly acclaimed "Cities: Skylines" city building and management series. In their official website at paradoxplaza.com, the makers of "Cities: Skylines" reveals that the new DLC will bring several transportation systems into the game to help the citizens move among the player's towns.

The title of the new expansion, the fourth for the award-winning game, is "Cities: Skylines — Mass Transit." True to its name, the new DLC will bring a host of new mass transit options for the players to deploy to their growing cities in the non-ending fight against traffic and vehicle congestion. These are not the usual conveyances, either — ferries, monorails, cable cars and blimps will provide interesting ways to get from one end of a city to the other.

In their feature list, Paradox puts emphasis on the new mass transit options as another wealth-generation scheme that the players can use to gain money for their cities. According to the announcement, adding the new transport systems will "add wealth to your city's income! Let your citizens get across town in ferries, blimps, cable cars, and monorails!"

Another feature is that the new systems will connect to the existing transit options already present in the game. For example, citizens can change from ordinary train to monorail in one building, or travel over water with the ferry after a bus ride.

The new expansion is not just about new vehicles, either. New roads and transport channels will also be coming: "Explore a set of new challenge scenarios focused on solving traffic problems and adding new transit systems. New road types, bridges and canals adds variety to your city, and new ways to solve its challenges. Become an expert in traffic flow, and then use that knowledge to improve your city!"

The new DLC does not have a release date yet as of this time. Watch the announcement for "Cities: Skyline — Mass Transit" below.
