'Clash of Clans' The Legend of the Last Lava Pup Commercial: Christoph Waltz and James Corden Retell a True Tale of Clash Achievery
Staying true to its brand, Supercell released an "interesting" commercial featuring two Hollywood actors and a bedtime story.
This particular "Clash of Clans" commercial was uploaded just a few days before Christmas. It has made the rounds on the Internet and has been viewed more than 13 million times on YouTube, as of this writing. The commercial, titled "The Legend of the Last Lava Pup," stars actors James Corden and Christoph Waltz and retells a story based on a real CoC war.
Waltz and Corden appear as father and son in the commercial, which weaves live action sequences with cinematic animation and actual CoC gameplay.
The commercial is the first installment of Supercell's "True Tales of Clash Achievery" campaign. It retells how one Lava Pup made all the difference between victory and defeat between two clashing clans. The story is inspired by the events that unfolded during the BarbariaNParty versus Die Unsterblich clan war.

The second installment of Supercell's "True Tales of Clash Achievery" campaign is already out. This time, the "Clash of Clans" commercial features a player known as KoopaTroopa787, which it describes as "the most generous Clasher who ever lived." Watch the Koopa commercial below.
James Corden and Christoph Waltz are not the first famous actors to appear in a "Clash of Clans" commercial. In February, Supercell featured actor Liam Neeson in a Super Bowl advertisement for the game.
Supercell's "True Tales of Clash Achievery" campaign was created by Barton F. Graf, which is also responsible for the Liam Neeson Super Bowl commercial. The agency wants to emphasize that every Clasher has a story and has been looking at real stories from Clash community pages, Reddit, and forums for inspiration for Supercell's ad campaign, according to AdWeek.
