'ClassicaLoid' Season 2 Air Date, Spoilers: Upcoming Installment to Feature Two New Maestros as a Young Boy and a Hippo
Two new classical music maestros are crashing on Kanae Otowa's home on the upcoming sophomore season of the Japanese slapstick comedy anime series, "ClassicaLoid."
The first season has already brought more than a handful of music maestros into Kanae's life. However, these music geniuses are really more than what the history books say for they are supra-normal versions of their hall-of-famer selves.
Although they introduce themselves as Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Bach, and Schubert, their familiar music does more than just create tunes — it can also literally shake the stars off the sky and make giant robots appear, among other things. These musical maestros have come to be known as ClassicaLoids, and two of them are reportedly joining the fray.
Season 2 will usher in ClassicaLoid versions of the German composer Richard Wagner as a young man and Czech composer Antonín Dvořák as a pygmy hippopotamus. They will be voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Junichi Suwabe, respectively.
It is currently unknown what has brought these two to Kanae's humble rural town. It is, however, almost certain that Kanae will provide lodging for the town's newest visitor. How will the arrival of a young boy and a hippo affect the ClassicaLoids already living at Kanae's house? And what new strange and crazy realities will their Musik be producing this time around?
The series has been licensed by Sentai Filmworks to be simulcast on select digital outlets, with a home video release planned in the future.
Kei Umabiki is the new director for the second season, with the former director Yoichi Fujita now acting as story supervisor. The series composition will still be done by Michihiro Tsuchiya. Masashi Hamauzu is in charge of the background music creation, with various Japanese electronic producers and rock musicians contributing for the "ClassicaLoids'" Musik.
This season's musical ensemble will include Tomoyasu Hotei, Daisuke Asakura, Tsunku, tofubeats, Chisato, and Kouichi Tsutaya.
"ClassicaLoid" season 2 premieres on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 5:35 p.m. JST on NHK.
