Cleveland Browns NFL Trade Rumors: Browns Not 'Serious Enough' in Bringing Terrelle Pryor Back

The Cleveland Browns may have decided not to place the franchise tag on Terrelle Pryor, but they still plan to offer him a long-term deal once the free agency period begins.

Pryor has already said he wants to stay in Cleveland, so that means the Browns should have no problem re-signing him, right? Well, not exactly. Citing a source close to the wide receiver, Lauren Brill of WEWS-ABC said the team's interest in bringing him back wasn't really "serious enough." She also stated that Pryor has drawn interest from the Baltimore Ravens and several other teams.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tennessee Titans, San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles are all going after Pryor as well, so the receiver should have a lot of suitors once he becomes a free agent.

Since the free agency negotiation period has started, any team can approach Pryor's camp and begin discussing a potential deal. However, they can't sign him until free agency officially starts on Thursday, at 4 p.m. ET.

Last week, Browns general manager Sashi Brown said re-signing the wide receiver remains one of their top priorities, but he also revealed that they weren't going to panic if they fail to bring him back.

"I think we'd like to have Terrelle back and that's a priority for us. That said, we're not going to panic if he's not back, also. But he's a good player, works hard, we think he fits in our system, had a lot of success with our coaches, so we think this is a great place for him to continue his career." Brown said in a statement on the Brown's official website.

According to Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson, Pryor is reportedly looking for a deal that will pay him $10–12 million per season. The Browns do have the salary cap space to re-sign him, but will they do it?
