Cleveland Browns NFL Trade Rumors 2017: Mitchell Trubisky Will Have Private Workout With Browns on Friday
Top quarterback prospect Mitch Trubisky is certainly drawing a lot of attention before the 2017 National Football League (NFL) draft. A lot of teams sent their coaches and team personnel to attend Trubisky's workout at University of North Carolina's (UNC) pro day last Tuesday, and the Cleveland Browns sent a contingent as well.
Head coach Hue Jackson and general manager Sashi Brown were not present during the workout, but they will get a chance to see the quarterback up close this week. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport has reported that the Browns are going to hold a workout for local prospects at their facility this Friday and the Mentor, Ohio native is going to attend.
Each team is allotted 30 pre-draft visits leading up to the draft. However, the Browns don't have to use one of them on Trubisky since he grew up nearby.
The Browns have the first overall, the 12th overall and the 33rd overall pick in the draft and they can use one of them to select Trubisky. Well, the former UNC quarterback will love to get the chance to play for his hometown team.
"If I go back home to Cleveland, that'd be exciting, but wherever I go, I'm going to give that organization absolutely everything I've got, and it's going to be a dream come true no matter what," he said after his pro day workout last week, via Cleveland.com.
"I know how to work, I know how to be a great team player, but I also know how to be that leader, know how to be that starting quarterback. I can do everything you need me to do on the field but I'm definitely that guy that you want leading your franchise and leading your locker room," he continued.
Meanwhile, Ohio.com has reported that former Ohio State cornerback Gareon Conley will also attend the workout on Friday. Conley grew up in Massillon, Ohio and he played his high school ball at Massillon High School.
