Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Trade Rumors: Timofey Mozgov Denver Nuggets Deal Unlikely

The Clevland Cavaliers have successfully signed LeBron James earlier this year and they seem to be ready to tackle the Eastern Conference for the 2014-2015 season. Cavaliers head coach David Blatt, however, believes they still need a few more acquisitions to complete the roster.

The team has been looking to work out a trade with the Denver Nuggets for Timofey Mozgov for the past eight weeks. The trade however, seems unlikely to happen.

The Cavaliers would of course want Mozgov in their roster. The center is 7'1", is a skilled player, and is coming off his best season in his career. If the deal is going to happen though, it will be difficult to work out.

Mozgov for his part is making $4.65 million this coming season and will get a $4.95 million team option the year after. When it comes to the Nuggets, they really don't have any reason to trade him off.

The Cavaliers would need Mozgov for a backup center player, seeing as how Anderson Varejao's struggles with his injuries. Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson could fill in the position quite easily but the team would rather get someone dedicated to protect the center field.

Mozgov is one of the best options the Cavaliers have for that position but from the looks of it, he won't be tradeable even in the year after this season. The Cavaliers are Still interested in possibly acquiring free agent Emeka Okafor as well as Ekpe Udoh.

Both players are still unsigned and they fit the role well enough that the Cavaliers may sign them on if need be.
