In the first meeting, the Pistons took a 104-99 victory thanks to an impressive game from Andre Drummond.
The Pistons big man had 25 points and 18 rebounds to help the team, while LeBron James had 30 points, six rebounds and three assists in the losing effort.
With the game relatively close throughout, the Pistons pulled away in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Cavaliers 29-18 in the final frame to take the victory.
In the next game, the match-up was in Michigan and the Cavaliers evened things out with a 114-106 win.
Cleveland was impressive as the team scored 30 or more points in the first three quarters to get the win.
Kevin Love had 29 points and six rebounds in the win, while Drummond lifted the Pistons with 20 points and eight rebounds.
