'Clione no Akari' Anime Spoilers: Takashi, Kyoko Say Their Goodbyes to Minori in Final Episode
The bittersweet story of friendship among Takashi, Kyoko, and the bullied girl Minori is about to come to an end and things are slowly falling into place on the short-form Japanese anime series, "Clione no Akari."
Last week's episode once again featured Minori's point of view, revealing what she has been writing on her phone the entire time she was at the hospital. Since it was her aunt's old phone and it had no existing contract, all Minori could do was type out her messages, dreams, and fantasies involving the summer festival and how she wished to spend it with Takashi and Kyoko.
Could this have been the feelings that brought Minori to the festival in spirit that night? Or had Minori really been there all along?
A couple of things still remain confusing, and fans are hoping that a much clearer answer will be revealed in the upcoming final episode. There is still that unanswered question of who sent the invitation message to Takashi and Kyoko and what one of the takoyaki bullies meant when he said that Takashi and Kyoko might have been the one who sent those messages to each other in answer to Minori's unsent final message.
The final episode may have been a heartwarming journey through Minori's final thoughts as she held on to the memories of her friends, whom she had likened to two cliones glowing like two sea angels in her otherwise bleak existence. She even went on to daydream about how she would've wanted to spend the summer festival with them, and she may have even envisioned Takashi and Kyoko's future as a married couple.
Would they, perhaps, name their daughter after Minori?
The remaining mysteries are about to be resolved as this heartwarming and also heartbreaking tale of friendship and bravery comes to a close.
"Clione no Akari" airs on Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX and midnight JST on Sun TV. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site. Episodes are also available for regions outside Japan via Amazon Prime's Anime Strike service.
