CMA Awards 2013 Nominees Announced
The nominees of the 47th Annual Country Music Association Awards were announced Tuesday morning with Taylor Swift and newcomer Kacey Musgraves in the lead.
Sheryl Crow and the Florida Georgia Line helped announce the nominees live on "Good Morning America."
Firstly, Swift is up for a total of six nominations at the 2013 awards ceremony, including a chance to win her third Entertainer of the Year Country Music Association Award.
Also earning six nods at this year's CMA's was Kacey Musgraves who is up for awards in the album and female vocalist categories.
Next up, with five nominations each, were country music stars Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, who happen to be husband and wife.
Other top-nominated artists included Keith Urban and the group Florida Georgia Line with four nominations each.
Furthermore, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, and Little Big Town are up for three awards apiece.
In addition to Swift, contenders for the night's biggest award, Entertainer of the Year, include Alden, Luke Bryan, Shelton, and George Strait.
Alternately, Shelton, Underwood, Swift, Musgraves, and Little Big Town are each up for the coveted Album of the Year Award.
The 47th annual CMA Awards will air Nov. 6 on ABC from Nashville, Tenn.
Meanwhile, Underwood and fellow country music star Brad Paisley will co-host the awards show for the sixth time in a row this year.
As two of country music's most popular artists, the dynamic duo is known for their spirited antics as hosts.
Both Underwood and Paisley have earned several CMA Awards of their own- Underwood has won five CMA awards, while Paisley has taken home an impressive 14 trophies from ceremonies over the past few years.
In addition to her CMA Awards, Underwood is a six-time Grammy Award winner and was inducted to the Grand Ole Opry in 2008, among many other accolades.
The 30-year-old singer rose to stardom after winning the fourth season of "American Idol" in 2005.
