Coachella 2013 Lineup: Stone Roses, Blur and Phoenix Announced as Headliners
The lineup for Coachella 2013, the three-day music festival which takes place in the desert city of Indio, Calif., was released late on Thursday, and features key acts such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blur, Social Distortion, and Lou Reed.
The full name of the festival, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, has been widely accepted by many younger American generations as the most popular music festival in the country.
The three-day event, which takes place on two separate weekends in the sweltering heat of California's Coachella Valley, features headliner musicians, old school legends, and up-and-coming acts, not to mention a variety of installation artists dotted throughout the festival grounds to showcase their work.

As the Los Angeles Times points out, this year's lineup proves to be an enticing mix of music tastes for every type of audience member, including classic punk and rock acts like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Lou Reed, mixed in with upper tier artists such as Modest Mouse and the electro deejay Skrillex.
Additionally, the music venue serves as a great opportunity for new bands to present themselves, as often times between major acts, festival-goers will roam the playgrounds to seek out a new band to pass their time.
"They pay you lots of money, and there's a large captive audience," Laura Ballance, co-founder of North Carolina indie label Merge Records, told the LA Times of the appeal for new bands to play at the festival.
Last year, Coachella blew fans away by using hologram technology to make it appear that famous deceased rapper Tupac was performing on stage with Snoop Dogg for his famous song "Hail Mary."
Rumors circulated earlier in 2012 that the famous British band the Rolling Stones would be headlining this year's festival, but according to the lineup, they will not be present, although critics online contend that it is possible that leaked versions of the lineup had viewers mistaken the Stone Roses for the Rolling Stones.
The remaining tickets for the festival, many of which have already been purchased through pre-order, will go on sale Tuesday, Jan. 29.
The festival will take place on the weekends of April 12 and 19 in Indio, and the full lineup can be found at coachella.com.
