'Code Black' Episode 2 Spoilers: Meet the ER Doctors
In the next episode of "Code Black" entitled "We Plug Holes," the official synopsis reads, "Christa saves a woman's life and then pleads with Neal to perform a surgery that will save the patient's reproductive future. Meanwhile, Mario gets into a fight with a patient after he delivers a diagnosis that could end the man's hockey career."
In the promo for the episode, the doctors deal with various cases including an elderly woman who swallowed some coins. Christa says that this job matters to her and the other first year residents. The show promises another interesting and drama-filled episode.
The pilot episode began with the new residents of the Los Angeles County Hospital as they arrived for their first shift. They had become doctors in order to save lives but in the emergency room sometimes typical methods are not enough to save a life. They met the Mama of the ER who is a nurse. They also met the Papa of the ER who used an unconventional method in order to save a patient's life. The unusual method worked and the patient survived.

Neal was a fellow doctor in the ER and he disagreed with Leanne also known as the Papa of the ER. He used to be her student and he complained to the Chief about her methods. The Chief and the board loved her because she produced the best doctors through her program.
A father and daughter arrived in the ER and only the daughter was conscious even though she was seriously injured. Leanne took on the father's case only to realize that he was already brain dead while Neal took on the daughter who had already lost her mother when she was younger. The father was an organ donor.
The new residents had their work cut out for them as the ER went into code black. One of the residents froze when he cut open a young patient. Christa and Marco clashed over a pregnant patient and Christa disobeyed Leanne's direct order and got fired.
Christa, as it turned out, was right about the pregnant patient who had carbon monoxide poisoning. Christa had to do an emergency C-section in the ambulance. Christa was re-hired after she saved the patient and her baby. In the end, the daughter met the young girl who got her father's heart.
"Code Black" airs every Wednesday.
