'Code Vein' News: The Protagonist Possesses Special Abilities Inside the Game
Main protagonist inside the game is a player-created avatar
The characters to be featured in "Code Vein" feature all kinds of powers that enable them to thrive in their harsh surroundings. But even among these atypical individuals, there is one who truly stands out.
The protagonist who players will control is a bit different from the other characters inside the game in a few ways.
First off, it will be the players themselves who will determine what the main protagonist will look like. They will also select which weapons and abilities the latter will wield in the game.
The latest issue of Famitsu revealed the other ways in which the protagonist differed from the other important characters, DualShockers reported.
In the game, most of the main characters present are trying to figure out who they are as they have lost their memories. Apparently, the main protagonist will play a huge role in helping the other Revenants understand themselves better.
That is because the protagonist possesses a special ability that enables this individual to relive the experiences of others. The former can help a fellow Revenant regain some of his/her past memories simply through the use of a piece of crystallized memory. All the protagonist has to do is to touch that crystal and whoever owns it will be able to regain some of their lost memories.
Many pieces of crystallized memories are apparently scattered throughout the world contained inside "Code Vein," which means the protagonist can help out other Revenants more than a few times.
The game's primary protagonist also has the ability to restore springs of blood tears. The character can do this by letting his/her blood drop on a spring. Upon restoring a spring, a mysterious entity known as mistletoe is also brought back.
The main protagonist is also immortal, but as revealed in the game's "Underworld" trailer, all revenants are the same in that regard.
An exact release date for "Code Vein" has yet to be announced, though it is due out sometime next year.
