Connecticut Teen Killed Over Alleged Squabble With Classmate

A 15-year-old teen has died after being shot outside a home in Shelton, Connecticut. Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to come forward, as the only lead they have is a threatening text message.

Kristjan Ndoj was shot in the head and leg by an unknown assailant after receiving threatening text messages over a girl. He was shot on Saturday and placed on life support, but his family removed the support and he passed away at Bridgeport Hospital.

"My boyfriend is going to kill you," a classmate texted Ndoj just a short time before the shooting occurred.

The girl's boyfriend allegedly threatened Ndoj sometime before that as well, according to classmate Anthony Franco.

"This hasn't happened to Shelton in a long time. And to happen to a great kid like that, it's just shocking because no one would think he had enemies or he had anybody that wanted to hurt him," he told WVIT-TV. The boy allegedly told Ndoj, "if he hangs out with her or talks to her anymore, there's going to be problems."

The girl's name, along with that of her boyfriend, have not been released because they are minors. But police are treating the case like a homicide and are using all available resources to track down the teen's killer.

Ndoj and his family moved to the United States from Albania approximately four years ago and settled in quite well.

"He is very athletic," Yasmine Aidibe, a friend, said of Ndoj. "This is like the worst thing that could happen. He is such a nice kid."

Ndoj was riding his bike with a friend when the shooting occurred. There is hope that the second boy will be able to provide much-needed information about the shooting. For now, the Shelton community is in shock and mourning for a life cut short.

"You have no idea how said I am," a friend named Dumani told the CT Post. "He is such a nice kid. He would talk to anyone. And to have this happen over a girl to a 15-year-old who has his whole life ahead? It's terrible."

"The family wants to thank their Shelton neighbors," an attorney for the family said in a statement, "as well as those who offered their kind and thoughtful expressions of love and support toward Kristjan and his family."
