Conor McGregor News: McGregor's Coach John Kavanagh Remains Optimistic That 'The Notorious' Will Be Part of UFC 200

Despite the repeated social media efforts of UFC featherweight world champion and top draw Conor McGregor, the UFC has remained solid on their stance.

After a lengthy disagreement, as far as media obligations go, the company has decide to pull "The Notorious" out of his scheduled non-title welterweight rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 200 on July 9th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

McGregor even posted a tweet that he was back on the card early this week, but UFC bosses also refuted it through company president Dana White.

Yet, despite these developments, McGregor's head coach John Kavanagh remains optimistic that his fighter would still be able to be included in the UFC's upcoming blockbuster event. In his appearance during Monday's edition of MMAFighting.com's 'The MMA Hour', the Straight Blast Gym head coach says the UFC would be losing more by disappointing its fans and foregoing a potential huge payday with McGregor headlining the event.

"At some stage you got to see that maybe it's pointless to upset so many fans that want to see this fight and ignore the kind of numbers that are going to be brought in over, you know, a press conference," Kavanagh said.

Last week, McGregor explained his side of the story, through a lengthy Facebook post. The Irishman says he merely wanted some leeway from the press obligations for him to be able to concentrate on training, but was denied.

According to Kavanagh, there is a huge difference in his fighter's situations with that of Diaz's, whom he claims could easily be present at the venues, given his geographical location.

"I know it's important to a lot of people, but it does tend to be the same questions over and over," Kavanagh said. "It's not the same for Conor having to travel halfway across the world as for his opponent having to basically go down the road."

"Things seem to be aiming the right away, we are aiming for it and we are training for 200, so, I just hope we get some good news."
