Conor McGregor Sparring with Former Boxing Champion Chris van Heerden
He may be preparing for a matchup against Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
In the world of combat sports, professional boxing and mixed martial arts are now taking center stage, and the possibility of two fighters from each sport clashing is one that keeps fans and critics on their toes.
And in recent weeks, MMA superstar Conor McGregor and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, Jr. have hinted at the chance that they would meet in a boxing event.
It has not been a secret that these two professionals are not fans of each other and they have made their statements regarding the fact that they can possibly meet in the future.
As per MMA Fighting, Mayweather tells reporters, "If I do fight, it's only against Conor McGregor. That's gonna be my only fight and not against nobody else because this matchup is just so intriguing. You have a fighter against an MMA fighter, one of the best MMA fighters to do combat and stand up and do it. He's a strong fighter and when I look at him fight he's a little faster than I thought he was so if the fight happens I can't overlook the guy. I'm pretty sure - if we make the fight happen - I'm pretty sure he's gonna push me to the limit."

Now, a video has surfaced showing UFC champion McGregor in the gym going up against former IBO welterweight champion Chris van Heerden.
It is a very interesting video knowing that McGregor may be adding it to fuel speculation that there is a fight happening and that he is preparing to battle one of the best boxers of all time.
At the Box N Burn gym, owner Tony Jeffries admitted that he feels McGregor has what it takes to hang with "Money".
Jeffries claims: "Conor has been here everyday since Friday. Twice a day sometimes... I never thought [Conor] had a chance at beating Floyd until I saw him box today. Now I am on the fence."
