Conservative Pundit Ben Stein Calls Obama 'Most Racist President,' Says GOP Wants 'Good Life' for Blacks
Actor, economist and conservative political pundit Ben Stein recently ripped into President Barack Obama calling him America's "most racist president" for engaging in racial politics to get the black vote.
In a Fox News interview on Monday, Stein was asked to comment on a poll that highlighted that the economy was the most important concern of voters going into the midterm elections Tuesday, Stein disagreed with the poll and charged that Obama and the White House had made the elections about race.
"With all due respect, I disagree with your poll," said Stein. "I think [the economy] is what people are saying is their most important issue, but I think what the White House is doing is trying to racialize all politics; and they're especially trying to tell the African-American voter that the GOP is against letting them have a chance at a good life in this economy, and that's just a complete lie."
"I watch with fascination — with incredible fascination — all the stories about how the Democratic politicians, especially Hillary, are trying to whip up the African-American vote and say, 'Oh, the Republicans have policies against black people in terms of the economy.' But there are no such policies," Stein noted.
"The idea that Republicans are somehow making life difficult for black people is just nonsense. It's just absolute nonsense. I mean they might as well say the Republicans are coming down from the moon. It's nonsense, absolute nonsense," said Stein.
"It's all a way to racialize voting in this country. This president is the most racist president there has ever been in America. He is purposely trying to use race to divide Americans," he added.
Stein also took aim at outgoing U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
"He's a guy that every time there is any kind of issue in law he says it's racism. The white police are beating up on the poor black people. Look, that's just nonsense. And anyway, even if it were true, we don't know that the police are Republicans," said Stein.
"The idea that in some way any kind of incident that happens which victimizes a black person is a Republican plot is just nonsense. They might as well say it's a plot by people from outer space. It just doesn't hold any water," he explained.
When asked if the GOP was doing a bad job in changing that perception of the GOP among blacks he said: "Well, they are allowed to feel however they want to feel; but it's basically just an excuse for saying, 'look, I'm gonna vote for President Obama 'cause he's my own race.' That's what it basically comes down to."
