Contest Announces Best Low-Cost, Soul-Winning Strategies
A global contest searching for the best cost-effective ways to save souls announced some of its top winners on Tuesday.
The contest founder Donald W. Mitchell, who launched the contest in January, expressed joy at receiving many positive responses on ways to conduct Christian evangelism more effectively.
"I am thrilled that so many excellent solutions were suggested," Mitchell said in a statement. "Praise God."
"I'm very pleased that these solutions range from things that can be done by individuals, to activities that congregations can pursue, to programs that Christian organizations can implement," the management expert added. "There's something here for everyone."
Mitchell had started the contest with the purpose to encourage all believers to take part in the Great Commission and invite people into a personal relationship with Christ.
He said most of the programs submitted cost significantly less than one percent of the programs that evangelists describe as being very cost effective.
Some of the best evangelism strategies, according to the contest, include securing weekly commitments from congregants to set a good example as Jesus did, introducing children to the Gospel during Christian face painting, following Jesus' example of seeking out sinners who think their sins are unforgivable, and developing a multimedia walk-through Bible experience to help people learn about a true relationship with Jesus Christ.
Mitchell said he plans to include details of some of the best solutions in a new book tentatively titled 2,000 Percent Solutions for Saving More Souls: Effective Ways You Can Pursue the Great Commission. Mitchell will co-author the book with those who contributed the solutions.
All profits and royalties from the book will be donated to the ministries which offered solutions in the book so they can further their evangelism efforts.
He hopes to have the book available for Christmas 2007 and present it as a Christmas gift to God.
