Cory Monteith Death: Twitter Serves as Platform for 'Glee' Cast's Grief
The unexpected death of "Glee" star Cory Monteith on July 13 has stunned and saddened fans, friends, and family. Many of his co-stars and fellow cast mates on the hit Fox musical comedy have taken to Twitter to express their grief.
Harry Shum Jr. who plays fellow glee club member with a knack for dancing tweeted, "At this time, please send nothing but love and light. This tragic news still doesn't feel right to me."
Co-star Lauren Potter, who plays Becky on "Glee" wrote a series of tweets addressing her grief.
She first wrote, "I am totally heartbroken right now. I love Cory so much this hurts my heart."
Later she expressed concern for her fellow cast mates, writing, "I hope my #glee family is ok right now. I love them all."
And in her last tweet on the subject, she remembered the good times she had with the late Cory Monteith, "Cory was always so nice to me. I have so many good memories."
In a longer message, Dot Marie Jones, who plays Coach Shannon Beiste on "Glee" tweeted her grief.
"I HAVE NO WORDS! MY HEART IS BROKEN CORY WAS NOT ONLY A HELL OF A FRIEND HE WAS ONE AMAZING MEN THAT I WILL HOLD CLOSE TO MY HEART FOREVER."
"I AM BLESSED TO HAVE WORKED WITH HIM AND LOVE HIM SO MUCH! MY HEART IS WITH HID FAMILY AND OUR WHOLE GLEE FAMILY! I LOVE YOU ALL!" Jones wrote.
Cory's fellow cast members are clearly deeply affected by the young actors untimely death. His girlfriend and co-star Lea Michelle has not tweeted anything since she learned of his death.
