Costa Rica engage in an international friendly against Uruguay at Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica.

Between the two teams, Uruguay are scheduled to be more busy as the months go on as they are going to take part in the FIFA World Cup South America Qualifiers.

This is their final exhibition match before the qualifier and they are scheduled to meet strong teams like Argentina, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil and Chile for only limited slots.
The last competition the Uruguayans joined was the Copa America where they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by eventual champions Chile.
Since then, they have only played one game – and exhibition match against Panama which they won 1-0.
In that match, Christian Stuani scored the match's only goal in the 82nd minute. Despite being outplayed by the hosts, Uruguay's defence stood tall and stopped nine shot attempts from Panama – six of those were on target.
Meanwhile, Costa Rica do not have any immediate competitions that they will take part of, and have only friendlies to play to keep match fit.
Their last competition was the CONCACAF Gold Cup where they were eliminated by Mexico in the quarterfinals of the competition.
Unfortunately for the group, they have not won a match in their last 10 games and advanced in the Gold Cup due to settling for points due to draws.
Their most recent friendly was against Brazil and it was a goal by Hulk in the 10th minute that gave the Brazilians the victory in front of almost 20,000 fans in New Jersey.
Costa Rica are facing a depleted Uruguayan side who are missing big names like Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez so they should make the most of this chance to get a win over a strong football nation.
