Country Music Awards Nominees Announced, Miranda Lambert Leads

The Academy of Country Music Awards released its list of this year's nominees with Miranda Lambert and Tim McGraw in the lead.

Both country music superstars Lambert and McGraw are up for a total of seven awards apiece at the 2014 ACM Awards. The nominees were announced via several videos posted to social media on Wednesday morning.

Lambert is up for her fifth Female Vocalist of the Year award, and her album "Mama's Broken Heart" scored single record, song and video of the year nominations. The "House That Built Me" singer is also up for two awards in the vocal event category for her work with the Pistol Annies and a collaboration with Keith Urban.

Alternately, McGraw's latest album "Two Lanes of Freedom" scored him both producer and artist award nominations. The singer's hit single "Highway Don't Care" earned him both a Vocal Event of the Year and Video of the Year nomination.

Keith Urban follows closely behind with six nominations, while country music darling Taylor Swift and newcomer Kacey Musgraves both have five nominations apiece. With five nods this year is Lee Brice as well as Lambert's husband, Blake Shelton.

This year marks George Strait's 14th Entertainer of the Year nomination. The traditional country music star won the ACM's coveted award back in 1989. Other multiple nominations went to Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker.

For the first time ever, folk music legend Bob Dylan was nominated at the upcoming 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Nelly also picked up his first nomination at the awards event for his collaborations with Florida Georgia Line on the "Cruise" remix.

Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan will co-host the annual awards ceremony, which will air live on CBS from Las Vegas on April 6.
