Canadian Parliamentarians spent an hour last night discussing a private member's bill to explore the definition of a human being. The bill was put forward by Conservative MP Stephen Woodworth. He seeks to establish a Commons committee to hear from experts on the definition of a human being, an issue deemed by proponents as long overdue. But the issue is an explosive one. Opponents see the bill as a motion to reopen the contentious abortion debate in Canada. Prime Minister Stephen harper maintains he intends to oppose the bill and has no control over private member bills that come up for debate.

Justice has caught up with one of Africa's most feared warlords. After nearly five years on trial at the Hague, Charles Taylor-- the former president of Liberia has been found guilty of crimes against humanity... including aiding rebels who raped, killed and mutilated civilians. The catalogue of charges included helping to plan a bloody civil war in Sierra Leone-- that killed as many as fifty-thousand people. However he was not found guilty of having command over the rebel forces.

Controversial Florida Pastor Terry Jones has once again threatened to burn Qurans, this time in protest the continued imprisonment of Christian pastor Youcef Nadarkhani in Iran. Jones is calling for supporters worldwide to burn copies of the Koran and images of Muhammad. He plans to carry out his own torching on Saturday. Jones told our partner The Christian Post that the ceremony will be roughly an hour long, during which he will speak on the last 14-hundred years of Islamic persecution of Christians, believers, nonbelievers, homosexuals, and women.

A Gallup poll is out in America on voter support along religious lines. Very religious voters were found to favor Mitt Romney, while moderately religious folk, or non-religious ones favor President Barack Obama. And when divided into Catholics and Protestants, only a slight difference was found, with Catholics favoring Obama…..and Protestants, Romney. But along the racial divide, the gap was big, with Romney having distinct advantage among very religious non-Hispanic white Protestants.

Russell Crowe will take on the lead role in an upcoming film based on the epic biblical story of Noah and the ark. Darren Aronofsky will be director and the project is being co-financed by Paramount and New Regency. Rumours of Crowe's involvement came after it was discovered that actor Christian Bale was unable to work on the project because of his involvement with two other films this year.

Great news about Christian athletes….

Forbes magazine included four Christian athletes in its top 10 list of the Most Influential Athletes of 2012 . Among those listed were Tim Tebow, Manny Pacquiao(Pakee-ow) and Jeremy Lin. Tebow, a New York Jets quarterback, was listed as the second-most influential athlete behind MULTI-AWARD WINNING NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson. Manny Pacquiao (Pakee-ow)—a 33-year-old high-profile Filipino boxer and congressman who has earned eight world titles--trailed Tebow on the list at number four. Last month, Pacquiao said he believed God was using him, Lin and Tebow to help save souls. Jeremy Lin, the 24-year-old Christian point guard who plays for the New York Knicks, was placed on the list for the first time at number 10.

MEANWHILE Brazilian soccer star, Kaka, has become the world's first athlete to reach 10 million followers on Twitter, making him only the sixteenth person in the world to pass the benchmark. The devout Christian soccer player is one of the most popular sports stars in the world, and is one of the most followed people on Twitter. The midfielder currently plays for Spain's Real Madrid.
