CP World Report: Chuck Colson, Romney, Keystone Pipeline, Saudi Arabia
The U.S. House of Representatives has approved a Republican bill that will allow the Canadian Keystone Pipeline to proceed. The pipeline would transport oil produced from the Alberta oil sands to Port Arthur, Texas. It was previously blocked by President Barack Obama. The new bill is intended to keep alive efforts to overhaul federal transportation programs and continue the flow of highway and transit aid to states.
The Southern Baptist Minister who called Mormonism a cult last October and said Mitt Romney is not a Christian has now endorsed Romney as the Republican presidential nominee. Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Church of Dallas, says he still doesn't believe Mormons are Christians. But he says given the choice between Obama and Romney, he chose Romney, crediting him with embracing biblical principles like the sanctity of life and the sanctity of marriage. He added there are no perfect candidates - and no perfect pastors either.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has met with Saudi Arabia's defense minister in an effort to strengthen American ties to that country. Now many religious rights groups are wondering if the Obama Administration will urge that country to allow religious freedom. Saudi Arabia bans Christianity and its Grand Mufti—the highest Islamic authority has called for the destruction of all churches on the Arabian Peninsula. Well according to Cliff May, president of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies: had the demolition of mosques in America been called for by a Christian leader, it would be front page news, yet there is no global outcry to this persecution of Christians.

Norway's prison terms are "pathetic," according to Anders Breivik on trial for the massacre of 77 people in Norway. So he declared in court, that the only logical outcomes in his case are….. the death penalty or a full acquittal. Breivik commented that he doesn't fear death and that militant nationalists in Europe have a lot to learn from al-Qaeda, including their methods and glorification of martyrdom. He had also indicated he would do it again.

Now, NATO ministers in Brussels are holding their annual meeting with the objective of plotting the pull-out of forces from Afghanistan. Chuck Colson's condition is reportedly worsening. Prison Fellowship Ministries—of which Colson founded-- has reported he may soon be with the Lord . Doctors advised Colson's family to gather at his bedside after the evangelical leader's condition took a turn for the worst. The ministry has called for prayer. Colson—who is now 80—suffered an intra-cerebral hemorrhage while speaking at the "Breaking the Spiral of Silence" conference on March 30 in Virginia.
