The suspect in the Wisconsin Sikh temple tragedy is dead and can never be questioned about his motives, but authorities have now arrested Wade Michael Page's former girlfriend on a weapons charge. Misty Cook was charged with the felony of possessing a gun. No other details are available. Any possible connection of Cook to the shootings at the Sikh temple that left six people dead….isn't known.
Meanwhile, the weekend killings at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin have put the spotlight on "hate rock." Wade led a hate-rock band and such music is becoming increasingly important to the U.S. white supremacist movement, drawing in new recruits and bringing in cash, according to groups that keep tabs on those groups.

Renowned atheist, author and evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins has been invited to speak at a faith-themed Book Festival in Scotland. Some local church groups are questioning how the atheist professor's presence would benefit attendees. But the festival explores belief and faith in the various ways it is presented in literature; and that includes works like Dawkins' own "The God Delusion." Dawkins, a fierce proponent of rationalism and evolution, has called faith a "cop-out," insisting that people do not need faith in their lives. His presence as a speaker is causing conflict, as church leaders suggest that a discussion on atheism shouldn't be a part of such a festival.
The United Methodist Church has continued to decline in the U.S., according to reports. Mark Tooley, president of the Institute on Religion & Democracy and a practicing Methodist, told our partner, The Christian Post, that he did not feel confident in the survival of the denomination in America. But there is a positive report: the United Methodist Church is growing, especially in Africa and the Philippines. Tooley believed that this growth would come to influence the theology of the American United Methodist Church.
