'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' Season 2 Cast Updates and Spoilers: Two New Characters Will Change Rebecca's Life; Premiere Date Set

What will happen to Rebecca and Josh's relationship after her damaging confession?

Two new characters will be introduced in the upcoming second season of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend". Brittany Snow from the box-office hit "Pitch Perfect" and Yael Groblas of the "Jane the Virgin" series are dropping by the CW musical comedy series.

Enthusiastic announcement by Rachel Bloom

For three episodes, Snow will guest star on "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 2 as Anna. Her character is described as a hip and cool woman who runs a beauty business.

As what fans might expect from her, Snow will be doing a musical number in her appearance in the series. She was able to show off her singing talent as one of the lead stars of "Pitch Perfect" and its sequels.

The lead star and creator of "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Rachel Bloom herself announced Brittany's guesting in the show, with a song number at that. Bloom changed the lyrics of some songs to include the guest star's name. Brittany shared Bloom's enthusiastic welcome to her on Twitter. It certainly was one way to keep viewers excited for the upcoming season.

No musical number

Meanwhile, Yael Groblas, a fan favorite from "Jane the Virgin", will be up for only one episode, specifically the fourth one. Her character will not be a crossover of her Petra/Aneska from "Jane the Virgin", although the two shows come from the same network.

Groblas will play the role of Trina, a businesswoman who will enlist the services of Rebecca Bunch (Bloom) as her lawyer. Unlike Brittany though, Groblas will not be doing any song numbers.

Most likely, her character will have a lot to do with Anna. Rebecca's life will change in a big way with the arrival of the two characters.

In last season's finale

In the "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season finale, Rebecca finally succeeded in getting together with Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III) after spending the entire first season trying to do just that.

But Rebecca first hooked-up with Greg for an almost entire weeklong of nonstop sex. She belatedly realized that she had developed feelings for him. It turned out that Greg had the same deep feelings for her that he let Rebecca go in order for her to be with her one true love, Josh Chan.

Rebecca did end up with Josh while they were at his sister's Arabian Nights-themed wedding, but only until she told him about the devastating truth. After a serious make-out scene on top of a convertible, Rebecca confessed that she did, in fact, move to West Covina to be with him.

Josh very quickly lost his glow as she panicked. She insisted that it was their moment and that their love story has finally begun. With that, the show and Rebecca are pretty much where everything started.

Available on Netflix

"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" Season 2 premieres on October 21. New episodes will be available for streaming on Netflix eight days after their initial airing on The CW. This is a part of the network's agreement with the streaming giant.
