6. 'You Shall Not Pass'
As part of the anger over Donald Trump becoming president, there were protestors who decided to block entrances to the checkpoints for the swearing-in ceremony.
"Protesters chained themselves to each other and the fences surrounding the checkpoints near the National Mall as inauguration attendees waited to pass through security screening," reported The Hill.
"Reports on Twitter showed that protesters shut down one security check point at John Marshall Park, which is near the U.S. Capitol Building, where President-elect Donald Trump's swearing in will take place."
While some pointed to this as the real reason why the inauguration had relatively low attendance compared to past ceremonies, The Hill also noted that "the Secret Service announced that all security checkpoints were still open despite protests."
