Cressida Bonas in New Play, Allegedly Turned Down Living With Prince Harry Before Split
Cressida Bonas is definitely done with Prince Harry and their relationship, sources say. Bonas recently earned the lead spot in a new play, "There's a Monster in the Lake" and is content with her new, single life, despite Prince Harry's attempts to win her back.
Cressida and Harry dated for more than two years, and their breakup came as a surprise to everyone, especially given that Harry planned to formally introduce her to Queen Elizabeth this summer during a family holiday. Prince William did so with Kate Middleton before they announced their engagement, leading everyone to think that this was "it" for Harry and Cressida. The prince had reportedly even asked Cressida to move into Kensington Palace with him.
"It has become very serious, very quickly and Cressida already spends most of her time at Kensington Palace, so Harry asked her to move in seven days a week," a source told the U.K. publication Grazia before the split.
Numerous sources said that Cressida felt intense pressure to keep up appearances and was tired of being compared to Kate Middleton, especially after her successful trip to Australia and New Zealand.
"Kate feels for Cressie," a source told UK's Now Magazine. "There's an awful lot of pressure when the whole nation is asking if you're about to get engaged. She told Cressie how she benefited from taking time out when she was on a break from William. Kate said it might be best for them too."
However, it's not known whether this is a temporary break or a permanent one. Harry allegedly tried to win Cressida back by gathering a group of friends and actually cooking a homemade dinner for the small entourage. Cressida, though, was apparently not into reuniting so quickly and is determined to focus on her career. She wants to be an independent woman, free from the spotlight that shines so brightly on the royal family.
