The cast and crew of "Criminal Minds" are celebrating the hit drama's 200th episode this Wednesday, Jan. 5, and it is sure to be a good one.

Furthermore, A.J. Cook who plays JJ, has described Wednesday's telecast as more like "a little mini-movie," according to Zap2it.

"It's been an interesting season for all of our characters," Cook said of season nine. "We've had an opportunity to tell a bit about the background stories, and that happens to fall on our 200th episode for JJ. It will definitely open people's eyes to stuff she went through during that time away and will clear up a lot of loose ends."

Also adding to the excitement, Paget Brewster's character Emily Prentiss is returning to the series for the 200th episode. Prentiss will join forces with David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) in the search for JJ.

"I said yes right away- no question," Brewster told TV Guide.com. "Erica called me directly before talking to any agent or executive or anything."

Brewster portrayed Emily for eight years before taking a break from the CBS drama, but decided to make her return for the special milestone episode.

"I was really flattered with they asked me," said the actress. "There was nothing to think about."

Also making a reappearance on the show is Jayne Atkinson, who plays the now-deceased ex-Section Chief Erin Strauss. The character will be revealed in several flashback sequences.

Messer had previously assured fans that more would be revealed about JJ's abduction.

"That's something I've had in my head for a year, actually- somebody's being dragged into a room and put in handcuffs and you don't know who it is," Messer told TV Guide. "The hood comes off and it's JJ. I wanted her to be the victim. Now its how do we find her? Why was she taken? All those questions will be answered in the 200th."

"Criminal Minds" airs Wednesday on CBS at 9 p.m. EST.
