'Criminal Minds' Season 9 Spoilers, Missing Toddler Case Startles Cast

"Criminal Minds" fans are in for a dramatic ride when the series returns to CBS after a brief hiatus on Wednesday with an episode entitled "Gabby."

The all-new episode will undoubtedly captivate fans with its intensity as the BAU team uncovers shocking news about a kidnapped toddler in Mississippi, according to CBS. According to the network, the BAU learned that a four-year-old named Gabby went missing while staying with a relative. They must race against time to rescue the child.

Ashley Jones guest-stars on "Gabby," portraying the tot's mother, Kate Hoffer. The actress is best known for her role on "The Bold and the Beautiful."

The episode synopsis on TVGuide reads: "A four-year-old girl disappears while staying with a relative in Mississippi. The investigation uncovers some startling information as the BAU race to find the child and bring her to safety."

Looking ahead, an episode set to air March 12 entitled "Rabid" will feature the cast of "Criminal Minds" in a fitness test, and it is sure to draw laughs. However, it will also unveil a bizarre crime case, according to CarterMatt.

"When three bodies are found with animal and human bite marks in a shallow grave near Milwaukee, the BAU has puzzling questions to answer," the synopsis of the episode reads. "Meanwhile, Reid and Garcia work out for a company fitness test, but try to hide their preparation from Morgan."

"Criminal Minds" airs Wednesdays on CBS at 10 p.m. EST.

Meanwhile, the cast and crew of "Criminal Minds" just celebrated the hit drama's 200th episode on Feb. 5. Executive producer addressed the season so far and

"It's been an interesting season for all of our characters," Cook said of season nine, according to Zap2it. "We've had an opportunity to tell a bit about the background stories, and that happens to fall on our 200th episode for JJ. It will definitely open people's eyes to stuff she went through during that time away and will clear up a lot of loose ends."
