Criminal Minds Star DUI Arrest: Thomas Gibson Arrested in Los Angeles (VIDEO)
A Criminal Minds star has been arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to new reports out Sunday.
According to website Wet Paint, Thomas Gibson is the actor arrested for DUI.
The reports suggested that Gibson had been pulled over by police at about 1 a.m. in Los Angeles, and was arrested by the cops.
The area where Gibson was pulled over was in a sectioned off area where the half marathon was scheduled to take place on Sunday.
According to the reports, Gibson had an alcoholic smell about him, so was asked to take a breathalyzer to prove his alcohol level. However, the actor allegedly refused, and so the officers arrested him on suspicion of DUI and took him to jail.
Gibson's bail was immediately set at $15,000, and early on Sunday it was reported by The Daily Mail, that he was still in police custody. It is unknown why Gibson had not paid his bail to be released. Numerous reports indicated that the sum should not prove to be a problem for the famous actor.
Gibson broke onto the small screen in 1987 by landing a guest role on CBS' legal drama Leg Work, followed by stints on the daytime dramas As the World Turns (CBS) and Another World (NBC).
In 1992, Gibson made his big screen debut in Ron Howard's Far and Away, in which he portrayed Stephen Chase. Chase was the villainous rival of Joseph Donnelly (Tom Cruise) for Shannon Christie's (Nicole Kidman) affections.
Gibson later portrayed Dr. Danny Nyland in the CBS medical drama Chicago Hope from 1994 to 1998, starring alongside future Criminal Minds co-star Mandy Patinkin. Then, in a comic turn, and in what is perhaps his best known work, Gibson portrayed "Greg Montgomery" in the ABC sitcom Dharma & Greg from 1997 to 2002, for which he was twice nominated for a Golden Globe Award.
