"Crusader Kings 2" has been hailed by many as an extremely enjoyable game with high replayability. This is because of its unique system and game mechanics, which allows for multiple scenarios. Moreover, Paradox has continued to release content for the game, which has contributed to the undying interest in the title.

For those who are unaware, "Crusader Kings 2" is a real-time historical strategy game that requires players to adopt tactical moves and develop crucial strategic skills in order to come out on top. It is set in "one of the defining periods in world history," Medieval Europe.

Basic gameplay involves players beginning the game in 1006 and controlling a Christian noble who must go through 400 years of European history. This Christian noble will need to ascend the ranks, achieving the position of a Count, and - ultimately - Emperor.

Of course, this journey will not be without its struggles as enemies will surely emerge to rival players in their quest for the crown. Competitors disguised as allies will make things harder, and players must discern and foil the evil schemes of those against them. And, with four centuries of history, the game also tackles the Crusades and the Mongol assault.

The discount and free DLC mark the beginning of a year-long anniversary celebration.
