According to the Episode Synopsis, the CSI team investigates the death of a reverend who was killed at the grave site of former CSI Warrick Brown. They start to suspect that a "guardian angel" has been acting to project his loved ones from beyond the grave.

In the previous episode the team uncovered the mysterious death of a WLVU basketball coach. Tom Burn's body was found in the locker room after being bludgeoned to death.
The investigation involved the biggest benefactor in WLVU history, Jack Oxford, Burn's wife, Linda and Burn's affair "Mistress Z." They were all suspects of the crime. However, at the end the team found that someone else was the real killer: Rob Austin, president of the university.
