Cupertino Shooting: Suspected Gunman Killed
Police have shot and killed the suspect believed to be Shareef Allman, who killed three and wounded seven in a shooting rampage in Cupertino, Calif. Wednesday morning.
The coroner has yet to confirm the identity of the dead suspect, but investigators believed it to be Allman, NBC news wrote.
Police, doing a routine patrol, spotted a man who matched Allman’s description hiding behind a vehicle in a driveway. Officers shot and killed the suspect after he displayed a handgun, according to Fox News.

At approximately 4:15 a.m. PST yesterday, Allman, 47, showed up unexpectedly at a Lehigh Permanente Quarry staff meeting, looking “disgruntled and unhappy,” Santa Clara County Sheriff’s spokesperson told NBC.
He then left for a few moments, and returned donning a .40 caliber handgun and a .223 caliber assault rifle.
As of 1:00 pm PST, Allman had killed 3 and injured seven. After opening fire in the business meeting, two victims died on sight, while the third later died in the hospital. He injured six after fleeing on foot.
Allman injured a seventh victim, near the Hewlett Packard offices on Hanover Street, in the neighboring community of Sunnyvale.
911 dispatchers received a call reporting a woman had been shot in an attempted carjacking. The description of the gunman matched that of Allman, as did the gun to the firearm used earlier at the quarry.
After the female HP employee was shot, the corporation closed its offices. The victim remains in fair condition at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, in Calif.
S.W.A.T. team members and police enforcement spent yesterday going door to door with guns ready, hunting Allman. They also used helicopters and search dogs to scour the area.
“[Allman should] do the right thing and turn himself in,” neighbor Vernice Beckum told Mercury News yesterday.
This area of Silicon Valley is home to massive corporate offices like Google and the Apple Campus, where the “Let’s Talk iPhone” conference was held just two days ago.
Allman was also an avid television host, producer, and advocator of black rights and empowerment. He hosted a television show on the local network entitled CreaTv, and a YouTube video is currently in circulation showing Allman interviewing Reverend Jesse Jackson at a Walter Hawkins Memorial Celebration.
Friends of Allman described him as a gentle, mild mannered single father. Numerous neighbors and loved ones pleaded with Allman to turn himself in.
