'Cuphead' News: Here's How to Unlock the Secret Mode

After several years of being in development, the highly-anticipated retro game "Cuphead" has finally arrived, boasting of its picturesque 1930s-era cartoon visuals and challenging gameplay. Because of the difficulty of the game, many wonder if there is any way they can get through it without having to cheat. According to reports, there is a secret mode that players can unlock and use to make it a lot more easier to play.

In the game's World 3 hub, by the docks, the player should speak to the turtle that can be found there who tends to talk about pacifism. This turtle will suggest that there is actually a bonus for the player if he is able to clear the platforming levels of the game without firing a single shot at the enemies.

Getting through a level without firing will give the player a grade of P, which can be seen on the flag he raises for the level. If the player continues to achieve this for the rest of the platforming stages of the game, he needs to go back to the turtle to unveil a black and white mode, giving the game a more retro look as well as some audio filters

While it sounds easy as pie, unlocking this mode actually involves challenges that will make it difficult for the player to complete all the six levels without shooting. Thus, he needs to plan very well how and when to use his Charms and Super Weapons. The good news, however, is that while shooting is not allowed in achieving the P grade, dashing, parries and using the Invincibility Super are permitted. Clearing the game also gives the player access to the Expert mode, which is expected to be very difficult since things happen very quickly in it.

"Cuphead" is now available on Xbox One and PC and is widely acclaimed by critics because of its unique gameplay.
