Reports contend that today’s Cyber Monday has reaped successful results, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 291 points, and the Nasdaq soaring 85.8 points.
Cyber Monday is "increasing in importance, with virtually all retailers getting involved and more consumers knowing about it as a day for big discounts," comScore analyst Andrew Lipsman told the Chicago Tribune.
As the bargain suggestion community website Slickdeals.net contends, the best finds on Cyber Monday ranged from plants to almonds to aprons.
Home-improvement store Lowes offered one dollar poinsettia plants, while Walgreens offered 24.6 ounce cans of Blue Diamond Almonds for $34, with free shipping.
Apron manufacturer Flirty Aprons offered a 40 percent off coupon to be used on their website, as seen on "Frontpage Slickdeals."
As far as deals voted "most popular" on Slickdeals.net, voters chose the George Forman Super Champ VariTemp Grill being offered at Walmart.com for $14.88, as one of their top choices.
"Thanks! I missed the Amazon deal. Grabbed 2!" commented a user named "pennyrubber" on the Slickdeals website.
Another "most popular" deal items was the Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 32 GB 10.1-inch IPS Touchscreen, being offered for $407.32 with free shipping.
"Yep, great deal. With a digital pen, this TP tablet is amazing. Solid, powerful, more suitable for business usage," commented a Slickdeals.net user name "dawaylong."
Cyber Monday, the online equivalent to Black Friday, serves as one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Online retailers heavily discount their products to reach remaining quotas, clear out old inventory, and jumpstart their holiday revenue.
In a recent survey conducted by eHoliday on Shop.org, eight out of 10 online retailers announced their participation in Cyber Monday this year.
