'Cyberpunk 2077' News: Unconventional Character Classes, Futuristic Settings and Other Things Known About CD Projekt Red's Next Offering So Far

Rumors have also hinted at some of the other possible features that may be included in 'Cyberpunk 2077'

With the "Witcher 3" still relatively fresh in the minds of many gamers, it should come as little surprise that hype is already building for the next CD Projekt Red offering known as "Cyberpunk 2077."

To this point, however, details about the game have been very hard to come by, though the tidbits that have already surfaced are pointing to something that has great potential.

First off, it was game designer Mike Pondsmith during an earlier interview with GameReactor who shed light on what kinds of characters players may be able to use. His earlier work, the "Cyberpunk" role-playing game, is serving as inspiration for the new CD Projekt Red game, and the noted designer is also contributing to the effort, so he has some inside knowledge of what is going on in development.

Pondsmith shared some of what he knew during the aforementioned interview.

According to the designer, all the classes in his RPG are also going to be included in "Cyberpunk 2077" along with some special wrinkles.

As WCCF Tech noted, the classes fans can expect to see are Cop, Corporate, Fixer, Media, Med-Tech, Netrunner, Nomad, Rockerboy, Solo and Techie. Those are not exactly commonplace, which makes it interesting to see how developers handle them.

In an earlier post on the game's official website, it was also revealed that the game's setting will feature advanced technologies. Several futuristic settings are also expected to be made accessible, including a combat zone.

Players may also be able to travel to those different settings in style. In a recent report from SegmentNext, flying cars are expected to be in the game, though it is still unclear how interactive they will be.

Rumors have also started to hint at what the game may offer to players.

A supposed leak made its way online not too long ago and the details it contained can be seen in this report from Comic Books Galaxy. According to the supposed leak, the world of the futuristic game is expected to be bigger than the "Witcher 3's" and destructible areas may be included too.

Unfortunately, it is likely going to be a while before gamers are able to find out exactly what "Cyberpunk 2077" will be, considering it does not even have a release date. Hopefully for them, details will be coming out more frequently in the weeks and months ahead.
