'Cyberpunk 2077' Progressing As Planned According To Witcher Developer
CD Projekt Red's upcoming title Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be progressing as planned. In a recent Twitter post, the developer behind "The Witcher" said that they are still hard at work on the project which was first announced back in 2012.
"'Cyberpunk 2077' is progressing as planned, but we are taking our time," said CD Projekt Red Co-Founder Marcin Iwinski and Studio Head Adam Badowski said in a joint statement on Twitter. "In this case, silence is the cost of making a great game."
The post also addresses the concerns players might have following the recent departures from the studio delaying the game. This is after worries about staff morale were brought up on sites like Glassdoor where the company received a number of negative employee reviews.

"So, does a departure, even a high profile one, mean that the project is in danger," the developer asks. "One would need to be very courageous to base the future of an AAA role-playing game of such scope on one person (or a few people)."
CD Projekt Red also explained that it is committed to working hard and setting ambitious goals for itself. They also acknowledge that it takes a lot of time and effort to do so and is definitely not for everyone. They are, in their own words "reinventing the wheel," which takes a lot of conscious effort to do so.
"Do people leave? Sure they do. We always wish them all the best and respect both their decision and the feedback they give us as the reason for their departure," the developer added. "We are continuously working on making RED a good workplace for everyone."
This isn't the first time CD Projekt Red publicly addressed its fans. Not long ago, early design documents for "Cyberpunk 2077" were held for ransom and the publisher refused to give in to extortion, later explaining the situation to fans in a public statement.
CD Projekt Red has yet to announce a release date for the game.
